iPROM achieved a double success at the WEBSI Digital Champions of Slovenia 2025 competition together with its partners. The project Ljubljana Airport FLY, developed in cooperation with Fraport Slovenia, won first place in the category Best Use of Data, while the project SPAR Tailormade, created in collaboration with SPAR Slovenia, secured third place in the category Retail.

For more than a decade, the WEBSI Digital Champions of Slovenia awards (Slovene: WEBSI Digitalni presežki Slovenije 2025) have represented an important recognition in the field of digital communications and technologies. This year, 225 projects competed across various categories, with the expert jury awarding those that stood out for their innovation, efficiency, and strategic importance in the Slovenian market.

The project Ljubljana Airport FLY, which won first place in the category Best Use of Data, is a digital advertising platform for the targeted promotion of air travel destinations from Ljubljana Airport, based on the airport’s first-party data. In 2024, it was upgraded with a reinforcement learning engine, enabling artificial intelligence to continuously optimize advertising parameters in real time. Today, the platform represents the largest advertising ecosystem for tourism services in the region and lays the foundation for the development of retail media networks in the tourism sector.

“Ljubljana Airport FLY 2.0 achieved excellent results, proving the effectiveness of its approach in practice. It showcases innovative data analysis and application that demonstrates a clear understanding of client needs. A key strength is its ability to quickly adapt to market demands, which is essential for this industry. The platform is advanced, applying reinforcement-learning AI in a real advertising environment. Built on first-party data, it provides complete control and automatic optimization, with demonstrably better results – more tickets sold at lower costs. The agency succeeded in addressing a common challenge faced by marketing teams: how to effectively leverage large volumes of internal data to best meet the needs and preferences of their target audiences. iPROM and Fraport Slovenia achieved exactly that, both strategically and technically,” commented the jury when presenting the award.

In the Retail category, the third-placed SPAR Tailormade project was developed as a data architecture built on the iPROM Private DMP platform, integrating data from all customer touchpoints. The system operates on three levels: enabling audience micro-segmentation based on behavioural patterns, creating and delivering personalized ads in real time, and modelling look-alike audiences through advanced algorithms. With this, SPAR Tailormade establishes itself as a sustainable infrastructure for data sovereignty and advanced personalized communication in retail.

“These recognitions confirm the importance of investing in the development of data- and AI-driven systems as well as their ability to create lasting impact. Both award-winning projects clearly demonstrate that digital advertising is no longer limited to individual campaigns but is evolving into strategic infrastructure that ensures data sovereignty, independence, and measurable effectiveness,” said Simon Cetin, co-founder and partner at iPROM, upon receiving the awards.
