In its July–August issue, Marketing Magazin featured a best practice case study on Ljubljana Airport FLY, an advanced digital advertising platform developed by iPROM in collaboration with Fraport Slovenija. The solution is based on the use of artificial intelligence and first-party data, enabling real-time automated ad optimization. By integrating reinforcement learning and behavioral microsegmentation, the platform increased conversions by over 30% while reducing the cost per conversion by nearly a third. The project was awarded both the Golden and Grand DIGGIT Awards for innovative use of data and advertising effectiveness.

Together with Fraport Slovenija, iPROM designed the Ljubljana Airport FLY platform to harness the power of artificial intelligence and first-party data for automated optimization and enhanced advertising performance in the travel and tourism industry. According to Marketing Magazin, this is a case of complete digital transformation in how users are approached—one that has delivered measurable improvements: a nearly 33% lower cost per conversion and a conversion rate increase of more than 30%.

At Fraport Slovenija, the team does not follow traditional advertising rules – they create their own. As Marketing Magazin reports, their project “Using Reinforcement Learning to Increase Sales via the Ljubljana Airport FLY Platform”, developed in collaboration with iPROM, was recognized with both the Grand and Golden DIGGIT Awards.

“The Ljubljana Airport FLY platform, by leveraging reinforcement learning–based artificial intelligence, achieved 30% growth in conversions and has evolved from a tool into an intelligent system for ongoing advertising performance improvement. With this, Fraport Slovenija is building a smart digital advertising infrastructure that learns, measures, adapts, and increases returns,” says Monika Jelačič, Head of Corporate Communications at Fraport Slovenija.

A key driver of the project’s success lies in the use of reinforcement learning and behavioral microsegmentation, enabling continuous learning and real-time adaptation of advertising messages.

“Targeted advertising based on first-party data within editorial online media across the open web is now among the most effective and credible forms of digital advertising. Ljubljana Airport FLY demonstrates that with proprietary, independent advertising infrastructure and a thoughtful application of AI, this is not only possible – but also measurable,” adds Leon Brenčič, Director of Client Services at iPROM.
